IPL Auction 2023 : Most Expensive Player in IPL 2023
The 16th edition of Tata IPL 2023 also known as India Premier League is going to start from March 2023. The IPL 2023 auction took place on Friday, December 23 in Kochi.
At the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Kochi, the Shikhar Dhawan-led team spent Rs 18.5 crore for Sam Curran, with a base reserve price of Rs 2 crore.
Punjab Kings broke the bank for English all-rounder Sam Curran, who became the most expensive player in the history of the Indian Premier League during the 2023 mini-auction. At the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Kochi, the Shikhar Dhawan-led team spent Rs 18.5 crore for Sam Curran, with a base reserve price of Rs 2 crore. The sale price of Sam Curran surpassed the record set by the Rajasthan Royals when the team bid Rs 16.25 crore for South African all-rounder Chris Morris ahead of the 2021 season.

England left-arm fast bowler Sam Curran on Friday became the most expensive player in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL) with Punjab Kings spending Rs 18.50 crore in the IPL 2023 Mini Player Auction in Kochi.
An Australian Cameron Green also crossed the mark by agreeing a Rs 17.5 crore deal with MI, making him the second most expensive player in the history of the tournament.
Ben Stokes was signed by the Chennai Super Kings in the 2023 IPL auction. The base reserve price of England all-rounder Ben Stokes was Rs 2 crore. The MS Dhoni-led team eventually landed Stokes for Rs 16.25 crore, third joint-highest price tag ever in the IPL.
